Dr. Susan Chan

Project Lead for SCOUT IPPM

Susan Chan is a pollination biologist at the University of Guelph with a special interest in crop pollination and protecting pollinators in agroecosystems. The main focus of her research is understanding the biology and ecology of the wild hoary squash bee which is an important pollinator of pumpkin and squash. Many of the metrics and concepts used to develop SCOUT IPPM have arisen from Susan’s doctoral studies. Besides work on wild bees, Susan also carries out applied research on honey bees.
